Avondale Campus The ICS After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) is an award-winning program that employs a diverse staff of educators who are dedicated to the development of young people. The program offers a safe and caring place where children can do homework and play with other children under the supervision of qualified staff. The program operates every school day with the exception of half-days. The program runs from 3:15 — 6:00 p.m. Children can be picked up anytime before 6 p.m. Late bus service, running at 5:00 p.m., is also offered. For costs, please contact coordinator Les Etienne at letienne@intcomschool.org. Stone Mountain Campus At the Stone Mountain campus, study hall is after school from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. The buses leave at 4:45. During after-school time students participate in electives such as dance and creative writing, but the main focus is homework. There is no extra charge for these programs.

Enrichment Activities: Other activities are offered either once a week or on an irregular basis. During the 2007-08 school year, ASEP is offering: dance, arts and crafts, environmental studies, media arts, organized games and theatre. Students who are members of soccer teams also practice during a portion of this time, under the supervision of volunteer coaches and parents. |
|
Typical Schedule and Routine Activities Between 3:15 and 5:00 p.m., the children have a healthy snack, playtime and do homework in small, supervised groups. Kindergarten children typically rest during this time. All students participate in the Heritage Language and Cultures Program during which each grade group learns about different cultures and the basics of that culture’s language over a five-week period. Volunteer tutors, typically university or high school students, offer their time to help individual students in academic areas targeted by homeroom teachers. |
