Parent Involvement

Parental involvement is a major key to a successful school, and ICS would not be the wonderful school it is without our parents and other friends of the school.

Research overwhelmingly demonstrates that parent involvement in children’s learning is positively related to achievement.  In fact, we take it so seriously that parent involvement is a requirement of the enrollment process that allows children to attend ICS.  Our school contract requires that each family commit a minimum of 10 hours per school year to the school.  This time can be spent in parent-teacher conferences, in committee or event work, in classroom work (at the teacher’s discretion), or in simply reading to the class.  There are many, many ways to participate in the life of ICS.  Please contact the school’s volunteer coordinator at ltaylor@intcomschool.org for more information.
